Filters & View Profiles

CardVersePro has a multi-layer filter system: instant search, sport selector, quick boolean chips, an advanced drawer, a Notion-style query builder, and View Profiles to save your entire view state. All filtering is client-side β€” zero latency.

Global Card Search (Cmd+P)

Press Cmd+P (Mac) or Ctrl+P (Windows), or click the magnifier icon in the header, to open the global card search overlay from anywhere in the app.

  • Searches your entire collection instantly β€” no waiting, no network call
  • Results show photo thumbnail, player, year/set, badges, value, and price freshness dot
  • Recent searches are saved (up to 8) and shown before you type
  • Arrow keys navigate the list; Enter opens the card in the collection view
  • Search all for… row at the bottom applies the query as a collection filter

Search Box (Collection Toolbar)

The search box in the collection toolbar applies an instant full-text filter across all visible columns as you type. No need to press Enter.

  • Searches player, manufacturer, set, parallel, notes, and location simultaneously
  • Click the Γ— button (or press Esc while focused) to clear

Sport Dropdown

The Sport dropdown in the toolbar filters the entire collection to a single sport or All Sports. On mobile, a scrollable pill strip replaces the dropdown.

Quick Filter Chips

The chips below the toolbar are toggle-style boolean filters. Click to activate; click again to deactivate. Multiple chips stack with AND logic.

Advanced Filter Drawer

Press Shift+F or click the Filters button in the toolbar to open the advanced filter drawer on the right side of the screen.

Edits in the drawer are in a local draft state β€” nothing changes until you click Apply Filters. Click Reset to clear all advanced filters.

Query Builder

Click Query in the toolbar to open the Notion-style AND/OR query builder for complex multi-condition filters.

  • Build rule groups with any combination of AND / OR logic
  • Save queries as named views from the Saved Views dropdown for quick re-use
  • Active query is highlighted in the Query button with an indigo tint

Active Filter Chips

When advanced filters or a sport filter are active, dismissible chips appear below the toolbar showing each active filter. Click the Γ— on any chip to remove that single filter without reopening the drawer.

View Profiles

View Profiles save your entire view state β€” sport, chips, advanced filters, search text, density, and table vs gallery mode β€” as a named profile you can restore with one click.

  1. Configure your filters, sport, chips, density, and view mode
  2. Click View Profiles β–Ύ β†’ Save current view…
  3. Type a name (e.g. "Grading Focus", "Football RCs", "Value Check") and press Enter
  4. Switch back any time β€” the active profile name shows in the button
πŸ’‘View Profiles are different from Saved Views. Saved Views store query builder rules only. View Profiles capture everything β€” filters, chips, sport, density, and view mode together.

Filter Interactions

All filters work together β€” search, sport, quick chips, advanced filters, and query builder all apply simultaneously with AND logic. The stats bar below the chips shows the live count and aggregate value of the matching cards.

πŸ’‘Clicking a KPI card on the Dashboard (e.g. "Graded") navigates to the Collection with the relevant filter pre-applied.
